“On Sunday, January 18th, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., we went to watch The Housemaid in Auditorium 23. The common areas at the front of the theater, including where tickets are checked, were properly heated and felt comfortable. However, as soon as we entered the auditorium, it was extremely cold—especially considering the cold weather outside. It felt as if the heater in the auditorium itself was not on at all. I stepped out to speak with the manager on duty to politely report the issue. Instead of acknowledging the concern or offering a simple apology, her response was dismissive. She said, “You’re the only one reporting it,” which made the situation uncomfortable, as if the concern wasn’t valid simply because others hadn’t complained. I mentioned that several people were using blankets, but rather than acknowledging the discomfort, she went back and forth with me in a defensive manner. She stated that people usually bring blankets, which completely missed the point. Temperature in a movie theater should be based on standard comfort guidelines, not on whether customers adapt or choose to speak up. There is a clear difference between a slightly cool theater with air conditioning on and an auditorium being cold while it is already cold outside and the heater is not running. When she checked the temperature, it was 62 degrees, which is not comfortable for a movie theater environment. This experience was less about the temperature itself and more about how the concern was handled. AMC should ensure that managers are trained to listen, acknowledge customer concerns, and respond professionally rather than dismissing valid feedback.”
