“I went to AMC River East 21 in downtown Chicago to catch a movie and it’s a solid pick if you want a classic megaplex experience with a bit of city vibe. It’s a big theater with 21 screens, so you’ll usually find both the latest blockbusters and plenty of showtimes spread throughout the day. Reviewers say the theaters are well-maintained, the staff friendly, and the reclining seats comfortable – especially in the Dolby Cinema rooms where sound and picture feel immersive. One thing to know if you’re driving: parking right around the building can be pricey and confusing, so a lot of locals recommend walking, using ride-share, or finding cheaper lots nearby rather than dealing with the on-site garage. Inside, there’s a big concession area with the usual snacks and drinks, and the overall feel is energetic and bustling, perfect if you want a fun night of film without anything too fancy. The sound and screen quality generally hit the mark, and the sheer number of screens makes coordinating with friends easier than at smaller cinema spots.”

“In addition to all the latest movies in the USA, This theater has the most international films shown of all the AMCs in the state of Illinois. You can see films that were amazing at the Cannes Film Festival from Spain, Korea, China, Japan, India, Ukraine, Portugal, France, Germany, etc. The seats are brand new and are so comfortable for your back. It’s not a dine in theater and I don’t care bc I don’t want to eat theater food. The only thing I would love are little tables at the seats for the popcorn. I don’t like to have popcorn pieces fall over to be polite. Love AMC and the movie popcorn deal is $29 per year for 50% off popcorn as long as you buy 6 per year. Great deal. And the large version is unlimited so for $5.39 you can share w the family and enjoy the movie!”

“This is a large theater that is very clean. Walk in and take the escalator up till you get to the box office for tickets. There is an arcade with a bar and a standalone bar as well. You can bring your drink with you into the movie. The prime theater we went in has large seats 💺 and it was very spacious. I’d come back here. Also, it started raining out of nowhere and ppl came in to escape getting drenched. They were all welcomed with no one trying to push them out.”

“The theater and seats were clean, and the picture and sound were excellent. However, the reclining seat wasn’t as comfortable as at other AMC locations I’ve been to. The pre-movie ads were very long, so a movie scheduled for 3:45 pm didn’t start until 4:15 pm. Overall, it's a clean theater with great audiovisuals and friendly staff.”
