Serene park in West Loop that has amazing spring blooms, lots of cute doggos, and a nice playground if you have kiddos. Summer time will bring nice shade trees and beautiful flowers. The art installation is also fun to observe on a sunny day while you take a call, take a break, or stroll on by. Thankful the city has these little areas to retreat.

β€œA most beautiful park with a state-of-the-art (seriously the nicest I've ever seen) water feature for kids in the summer, a playground, dog park, and lots of grassy areas to sit down. The walking paths through and around the park make it easy to enjoy as a passerby. The trees are also gorgeous in the spring and summer.”

β€œA beautiful little oasis tucked right in the middle of the city. Wide green lawns, a fun playground, and a misting area to cool off. This is a perfect hangout for families or a casual stroll :) Lots of kids and great energy, and you really feel like you’ve escaped the city bustle while still being in it!”

β€œBartelme (Mary) Park is a really charming spot in the city that feels both modern and relaxing. The open green spaces are great for picnics, and the fountain area is a fun place for kids to play in the summer. I love how clean and well-kept everything is, and there’s always a friendly neighborhood vibe. It’s the kind of park that makes you want to come back again and again.”

Overview

Mary Bartelme Park's design divides 2.7 acres into distinct programmed zones β€” a children's play area with non-traditional ADA-accessible equipment, a cooling mist fountain using stainless steel gate structures, a sunken dog park, open lawn, and a six-foot viewing hill. Native landscaping and sustainable stormwater management run throughout. The West Loop location makes it easily walkable from downtown. Art installations add visual interest for adults lingering as kids play.
