1 / 2Brookside Park Playground
π North Arroyo, CA
Large nautical-themed playground dominated by a pirate ship with cannons, ship's wheel, and portholes on responsive rubber surfacing. Suits toddlers through age 8, with a children's museum also on site.
This large playground is nautical themed, and dominated by a large (and pretty awesome!) pirate ship, complete with cannons, a ships wheel, portholes and more! The ground is responsive rubber to minimize injuries, and made to look like the ocean. There are other small features around the ship, including standard playground devices such as stairs, bridges and slides. A super fun playground for kids to run around on and make believe!
π Family Action Verdict
An excellent destination for children aged 2β8 who respond to imaginative, large-scale play structures. The pirate ship holds attention for hours. Bring a car β public transit options are genuinely poor. The children's museum next door extends a half-day visit into a full one.

βA great park for toddlers to about 8 years old. Large pirate ship themed jungle gym and other things. There is a nearby bathroom and plenty of parking. The parents tend to be a bit helicopter'ish, as opposed to letting the kids try to play with each other, but still a fun experience for kids.β

βItβs a very nice park. The pirate ship playground is big , my kid spent the whole afternoon there. There is a childrenβs museum in the park as well. Itβs definitely a great place to spend the weekend.β

Overview
Brookside Park Playground centres on a full-scale pirate ship structure complete with cannons, portholes, a ship's wheel, and multiple climbing levels. The rubber surfacing is styled to resemble ocean water. Clean bathrooms and ample parking sit directly adjacent. A children's museum within the same park grounds gives families an additional destination. Public transit access is very sparse β a car is effectively required.
