The first place I ever learned to skate in the early 90s. My step son just took skating lessons here and he loved it. This place is a hidden gem with countless childhood memories. The ice is still great and the overall facility is still in good shape.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 3 and up β€” the learn-to-skate program is a strong entry point for young beginners, and the public sessions suit casual family outings. The rink's community feel and multi-generational programming make it equally welcoming for first-time skaters and experienced ones.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Check the daily schedule on the FMC Ice Sports website before visiting β€” public session times vary and are not uniform day to day
⏰Enroll young children in the learn-to-skate program for structured progression rather than relying solely on open sessions
🎟️Skate sharpening is available on-site β€” useful if you own skates that haven't been used in a season
πŸš—Arrive a few minutes before the session opens to get skate rentals fitted without rushing

β€œAlthough I like the arena and how well they keep the ice clean and frozen, I just wanna talk about my experience with the employees(idk if I was just making the situation weird or overly dramatic but I wanna get it off my back). So I arrived with my best friend while our other buddies were already inside, we payed, got our ticket, skates, and went on ice. We went outside to switch skates since mines was a little too loose, but forwarding that time while I was tying the laces, I heard a couple (?) of β€œyo’s.” Obviously I looked up only to see one of the workers at the rental skate counter staring at me (possibly). I heard a phew more β€œyos” so without looking at them I told my best friend, in the end we both just brushed it off. Later on the ice we had fun and skated until we took a mini break. I brought up the situation again with my best friend and she said the employees as the counter were pointing at our friend group and laughing, the two employees I only saw were just two males. Finally, when it came time to leave while my other friends left, I quickly saw the employees staring at me and my best friend and then I look again, one of them is rolling their finger while staring again, literally full on staring. I’m sorry if I’m being dramatic or making it seem like they were being weird, but I felt like it was weird, because why are you laughing and pointing at my friends OBVIOUSLY πŸ˜β€¦ I wanted to go back inside and converse but it’s too late at night to argue for a reason, especially in public too with a lot of people. I guess I can also say they were helpful though, I just don’t wanna experience something like that again (and the workers looked like teens-college students, what’s a freshman doing arguing with adults.”
