1 / 2Carmel Ice Skadium
π Carmel, IN
40-year-old Carmel institution with two full NHL-sized rinks, a snack bar, party rooms, and a pro shop. Public skate sessions run alongside figure skating programs and adult hockey leagues.
First time in during public skate. Wasn't super busy so we had plenty of room on the ice. Ice skates worn and used shoe laces. If you have your own skates, bring them. Facility dated but fits the need. Ice smooth during our visit.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age kids and teens who want open skate time or structured lessons. Toddlers can join with attentive parents on the ice. Hockey families will find league and practice ice readily available. Bring your own skates if possible β rental stock is worn.

βCame here and Ice had just been zambonied but huge lumps were on the ice. After having fallen I was holding onto the wall a minute to regroup myself. Some instructor not sure if she was private or with the Skadium said I couldnβt be on the wall to long.β

βFirst, all staff encountered acted like they truly hated life. No personality and highly annoyed with simply doing their jobs (skate rental, paying for admission ect). Second, the skates suck! They are old, outdated, blades hardly have an edge/worn down, hurt your feet and leave marks on your ankles from rubbing and being so worn out. Third, this place was just gross! Not because itβs old, because it obviously doesnβt get cleaned or maintained as it should. Will not be back.β
