Center For Science Teaching And Learning
π Rockville Centre, NY
A science education center on a 17-acre preserve featuring live animals, dinosaur exhibits, and hands-on STEM activities. Popular for school programs and family events with guided nature hikes.
Such a great place! The live animal exhibits are fun and educational, and the animals are well cared for. The staff is friendly and really knowledgeable. A perfect spot for kids, families, and anyone who loves science and animals! π’π¦
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with young children who love animals and hands-on science learning. The regular museum experience with live animals gets consistently positive feedback. However, be cautious about special seasonal events which seem to have quality and customer service issues that detract from the value.

βWe had such a great time! The children loved the dinosaurs and were even more excited when they got to touch the animals. Staff was very welcoming and great with the kids. We loved it!β

βFor the price, the experience was fair. My child had a great time, which is ultimately what mattered most. However, I found some aspects of the event to be underwhelming. The characters in the enchanted walk didnβt feel particularly engaging, and while the haunted woods had potential, it lacked that extra spark to make it memorable. That said, it was still a pleasant outing, and the affordable pricing made it a worthwhile visit for a simple day out with the family.β

βThe experience changed. Itβs not the same show as it was before. It wasnβt scary, and all of the actors were young teenagers. I actually enjoyed the enchanted forest more than the scary spooky walk because they were friendly fairies that handed out candy. It used to be an event that even adults can enjoy, but they changed the show.β
