“Too many broken toys on the ground for children to play with. Also, unsanitary.”

“The playground areas are decent, but the splash pad area is awful. It's filled with tons of old, broken toys and most of the water jets also seem to be clogged. The drains aren't working properly so you're standing in water ankle-deep and it's flowing outside of the splash area. It's really unfortunate because it could be such a nice place to play and cool off.”

Overview

Chevy Chase Playground covers a wide footprint with play structures suited to different age groups and a splash pad that draws summer crowds. The dry playground areas are consistently rated well for variety and upkeep. The splash pad has faced criticism for clogged water jets, broken poolside toys, and drainage pooling — conditions that vary by season and maintenance cycle. The surrounding green space gives children room to roam beyond the structures themselves.
