1 / 2Children's Museum of Northern Nevada
📍 Carson City, NV
Indoor play space for ages 1–12 in Carson City. STEAM activities, art studio sessions, and storytime run weekly. Open layout lets parents see kids from the center of the room. Annual memberships available for frequent visitors.
My toddler has a lot of fun here and they have good membership options etc. I will say it’s less of a children’s “museum” and more of a child’s play place. Still a fun spot!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for toddlers and children up to age 5. The 2-and-5-year-old age combo is specifically mentioned by regular visitors as the sweet spot. The compact, visible layout suits parents of very young children. Weekly programming gives repeat visitors fresh activities.

“We love this little gem. My kids are 2 and 5 and both of them always find plenty to entertain them for at least an hour. The setup of the museum makes it easy to see them from the middle of the room. We have yearly membership and go almost weekly. It's been well-worth it, especially on cold days.”

“Went here with a friend and her kids. The staff were nice and the kids had a great time. There's some animals in the lobby, my friend's kids really loved watching the goldfish. I hesitate to call this place a museum so much as an indoor play area for children. We went in time for the art activity downstairs where the kids got instructions and supplies to make a crown that they got to take home. The museum hosts different activities throughout the week, according to the flyer I brought home there's story time, toddler time, art, STEM, and dance. You can also book a birthday party with them in their party room. The facility seemed very safe and clean. It was very busy when we visited, which was nice because my friend's kids had plenty of other children to play with. You do have to watch your own children, and they charge admission for adults and children, for us it was $3 per adult and $10 per child. I do wish other parents were as attentive as my friend is with her children though, I was shocked at how some parents felt comfortable leaving a mess for staff to clean up. It seemed a lot like some parents were more interested in watching their phones than their kids, and I did see a staff member have to ask a child to stop throwing things while we were there because the parents weren't paying attention. But on the flip side I did also see one parent and child cleaning up toys that I'm pretty sure other kids had left out, so maybe it was just a few bad appples that day. This place was small but cute. If I had kids I'd probably get a membership and take them on days with bad weather.”

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada functions as an interactive indoor play destination rather than a traditional exhibit museum. The open floor plan allows parents to supervise children from a central vantage point. Weekly programming includes STEAM activities, art studio sessions, and storytime on multiple days.
