We love this little local zoo. The staff and volunteers are all so dedicated, friendly, knowledgable, and caring. The enclosures and enrichment for the animals are well thought out. The animals are very active and happy. You can tell they’re well taken care of. The prices are reasonable if it’s just a couple of people but if you’re a large family (like 5 or more) then it makes more sense just to get a membership. The interactive (extra paid for experiences) are fun and reasonably priced. Highly recommend you go check this place out.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with toddlers and young children aged 2–8 who benefit most from the hands-on feeding interactions. Older kids who are genuinely engaged with animal behavior will find the small, attentive staff happy to share in-depth information. The compact size makes it manageable for children with shorter attention spans.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Bring small children during the animal feeding sessions for the most interactive experienceβ€”ask staff about timing on arrival
⏰Wear comfortable walking shoesβ€”the zoo terrain is not all paved
🎟️The compact size means a thorough visit takes roughly 90 minutes, making it easy to pair with other Issaquah activities
πŸš—Check the zoo's website for any seasonal cub or special animal viewing opportunities before visiting

β€œTook my toddler nephew there and he enjoyed it so much! The prices were super reasonable, and it was such a great experience. Being able to feed the reindeer, deer, and other animals made it really special and interactive. They also had adorable cubs and even a puma, which was amazing to see. Everything felt safe, fun, and family-friendly. Definitely a memorable outingβ€”we’ll be coming back for sure!”

β€œBeing a Washington state native I have never made it to The zoo. We finally took the family this past weekend and were very surprised at the concrete and steel bar ambience. There is hardly any vegetation in the enclosures or in the Zoo space itself. I want to say nice things about this place because I do think they’re doing good for the animals, but it was really hard to watch and see it was like Woodland Park zoo back in the 70s and 80s.”
