The BEST train experience we could have asked for. My children are 4 and 2 . We went as a family to the Santa Christmas Train and we were blown away by the staff and the entire experience. Complimentary cookies and hot chocolate when we arrived. The polar express was playing in the main room before we boarded. The actual train ride was so magical for my kids. It was the perfect amount of time , not too short, not too long. At the end we met Santa and Mrs. Claus and took FREE pictures of our own. We chose to bring our own wrapped presents which Santa gave to our children. You also have the option to purchase gifts before hand. The staff is funny, friendly and you can tell they love what they do. 10/10 !!!!

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Outstanding for families with toddlers and children under 8 who love trains. The seasonal Santa trains are a genuinely memorable experience — the atmosphere from the moment you walk in, with cookies, hot chocolate, and the Polar Express film playing, has consistently produced five-star reactions from young children.

“This museum is great and fantastic! Our toddler absolutely loves it! We can spend an hour or two just looking at train models and they also have a little play area. In certain seasons they also have some special train rides (Halloween, Christmas) where you can take a little train ride with activities for the whole family. There is a small shop that has a lot of train-themed gifts! The volunteers that run this museum are a gem and truly enjoy it!”

“We got there and as soon as you open the door, you feel like you got to see and smell everything from the cookies to the hot chocolate and best of all The Polar Express movie on the screen. The train ride was fun but for the small kiddos my 12 year old wasn't into it too much. But the best to come was on our way out where we got to see the man of the hour himself SANTA!!! who made me laugh by giving my hubby some coal for not being nice.”

“Had an amazing time visiting The First Gift Express at the Danbury Railway Museum. My 3 year old was very excited through out the attraction and enjoyed playing with the other kids and meeting Santa. Hot chocolate and cookies were a complimentary treat. Tickets are inexpensive and it includes the museum portion as well. The staff did an amazing job!”
