📍 City Park, CO
Denver Zoo spans over 80 acres in City Park and houses 3,000+ animals. Highlights include Toyota Elephant Passage, the walk-through Down Under wallaby yard, Tropical Discovery, and African Penguin Point. Children under 2 enter free.
The Denver Zoo is an experience itself, but if you have the opportunity to go to the GLOWING WILD EXPERIENCE. I do recommend a lot. You will be surprised and amused. I went with my family and its for all ages. Love it so much 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Exceptional for families with children of any age. Toddlers and preschoolers are captivated by the penguin underwater viewing windows and the wallaby yard walk-through. Older kids and teens engage with conservation storytelling throughout the exhibits.

“A must-visit in Denver! The habitats are incredibly well-designed, especially Toyota Elephant Passage—watching the elephants cross over the bridges above you is a highlight. We also loved the new Down Under exhibit; walking through the wallaby yard was such a unique experience. It’s clear they prioritize conservation and animal well-being. Great for all ages, and the staff is super knowledgeable during the keeper talks.”

Overview
Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance operates one of the most visited zoos in the US, with standout exhibits like Toyota Elephant Passage — where elephants cross elevated bridges directly overhead — and the new Down Under exhibit, a walk-through wallaby yard. Tropical Discovery functions as an immersive indoor rainforest with reptiles, fish, and small mammals. Seasonal events include Glowing Wild, a lantern-lit evening experience open to all ages, with separate adult-only nights.
