Diablo Rock Gym
π Concord, CA
Diablo Rock Gym spans 11,000 sq ft with a 32-foot lead wall, 3,000 sq ft bouldering area, 100+ routes, top rope walls, yoga studio, and fitness area. Part of the Touchstone network with shared membership access.
I've been coming here regularly since Oct 2019. There's so much that this gym offers. The community is extremely warm and welcoming. The staff are all friendly and will do their best to assist when they can. The setters are all super nice too! Tyler, Naz, E, Melissa, Andrea, Kenny, and Drew are all really nice at the front desk. It's not uncommon for them to walk the floor doing safety checks and making sure everyone is having a good time. They are not afraid to let you in on beta if you are working a climb. I just met Grace this past week and she was very comfortable introducing herself. Jeremy, the manager, is always very friendly and approachable as well. It's not uncommon to see him in the bouldering pit, chatting with the members, when he's done on his shift. I frequently see the coaches, Leonard, Carly, Evan, and Keiwon, working with the kids. They do a fantastic job of working at each of their individual levels and their one-on-one time with kids is very heart warming. They are always willing to share bits of info if you pick their brain. As a union guy myself, I'm so proud of how Touchstone came together to unionize. There's no other gym that will get my money now!
π Family Action Verdict
Strong option for families with older kids ready to progress into roped climbing β the lead wall and top rope setup supports progression beyond bouldering. Beginners are actively welcomed by staff. The yoga and fitness area gives non-climbing adults a reason to come along.

βItβs a trap. I walk in here and stay until closing every time I show up here. This community is so welcoming and wholesome! Youβll easily find a partner or a group to climb with if you need one! Thereβs walls for lead climbing, top roping, and bouldering β‘Μ However, if you need a break from climbing, Iβd highly recommend taking the Mountain Fitness Class (similar to CrossFit) with Brynn or Strengthening Hybrid Flow (similar to Yoga) with Shayna!β

βUpdate: Even though the bouldering walls only have less than 100 problems but they're really fun to clime. Thanks for the routesetters excellent work! The best part of visiting Diablo Rock Gym is that they have a big parking lot π. I have Touchstone membership, so I can visit all sites, but this one is the most convenient one for me.β
