great place! my niece loved going!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 1 to 9. Kids under 7 get the most from the hands-on exhibits and themed programming. Older children and teens will find the content too young. The monthly sensory-friendly sessions make this a strong option for families with children who need reduced noise and crowd levels.

“We visited this museum during our spring break trip to Charlotte (April 6–11). We mainly chose it for our younger kids, ages 4 and 9, though we also had ages 12 and 15 with us. Parking was easy — the garage was very close to the museum, which was convenient. Unfortunately, the check-in experience was not great. The staff member at the desk (a younger female) appeared disengaged, sitting back in her chair and playing with something in her hand when we approached. When we asked for tickets, she spoke very quietly with little eye contact, and we had to ask her to repeat herself several times. There was also no greeting or welcome. She quoted our party of nine at $172. We had already planned our itinerary and priced everything ahead of time, so the total seemed off. When we asked, she said door prices were higher. We stepped aside and purchased tickets online instead, which came to $144 — a noticeable difference. We’re used to visiting children’s museums like EdVenture that have multiple levels and attractions for a wide range of ages. This museum felt geared mostly toward ages 5 and under. It also seemed unorganized — typical pretend-play setups like a fire truck, restaurant, and grocery store, but items were scattered everywhere. There didn’t seem to be staff resetting areas for the next families, and we only saw one staff member on the floor. There was a second level, but it only had one attraction. Overall, it felt like a lot of money for a small space. Some areas also looked worn and in need of updates. On a positive note, the bathrooms were very clean, which stood out. The highlight for our 4-year-old was the water play area. We spent about 30 minutes total before leaving and ended up getting ice cream elsewhere to make up for the disappointment. Based on our experience, we wouldn’t recommend it.”
