California's first Disney park across eight themed lands including Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and Fantasyland. More compact than Disney World, making a single-day visit achievable with Lightning Pass.

Without a doubt, it's a place where no matter your age, you'll always have fun. I've visited the park three times, and each visit is magnificent because you enjoy it as if it were the first time. This year, 2025, I decided to go for New Year's, and the experience was incredible. The weather was cold and rainy, but no one can take away the experience; the best thing you can do is enjoy the adventure. One of the rides I think you should never miss is "It's a Small World." It's a ride suitable for all ages, and the ride is truly amazing. Other favorite rides I recommend are Star Wars, Star Tours, Toy Story, and Autopia. If you like adrenaline, I recommend riding Big Thunder Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Space Mountain. Just enjoy your time at the park like a kid. It's also important to know that you can enter and exit the park without any problem. If you paid for parking, mention that you'll be leaving and re-entering when you pay so they can give you your ticket with the entry and exit code. And the park entrance uses the same code. If you've already left and forgot to buy souvenirs, I recommend the shop across from the bus lines; it's very large and has almost the same items as the shops inside the park.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children of any age who want a full Disney experience without the scale of Disney World. Lightning Pass holders can clear all major rides before midday. Families with toddlers and infants have strong stroller infrastructure and pram-friendly paths throughout.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Secure Lightning Pass and use it to clear major rides before noon
⏰Wear extremely comfortable shoes β€” expect 8–10 miles of walking across the day
🎟️Pack layers, as temperature drops significantly once the sun goes down
πŸš—Your park ticket allows same-day re-entry β€” confirm parking validation at exit

β€œI had never been here my partner grew up going to Disneyland often and I went this for the first Time at 36 - we had the lightning pass which rode all major big rides before noon - it was nice. The line to get in wasn’t too bad and also the drop the rope line wasn’t too bad either got right in and on the ride. People get really into it. Had some great snacks such as dolwhip churros popcorn etc. we were there 14 hours it was wild - Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and prepare yourself for a long walk. The temperature drops at night, but the sight of the park illuminated at night is breathtaking. The lightning show and taking photos with the people around the park were delightful. They automatically download to your phone app. I left after 14 hours and felt like I was catching a cold or flu that evening. Counting my sleep and California adventures was the next day. It’s definitely an experience worth having, but I wouldn’t go there every time. It’s cool to say I’ve been there. Those rides are incredible. I don’t understand how they make and dismount them. That’s what intrigued me the most.”

β€œWe had the best time at Disneyland Park. It is a lot smaller than the one in Orlando, Florida but I actually really liked that part. It is big enough to wonder at and explore while being easily accessible and manageable. Being able to check out everything at this park in a single day was definitely a positive since we had limited time during our trip. We are not big on rollercoasters or rides of any sort so we avoided majority of those lines. We even got to meet with some of the characters as well which was fun. The employees are all friendly and amazingly patient with both children and adults. The park in general is so detailed and fun to walk around. The themed restaurants and shops are big highlights as well. A little pricey but you kind of expect that when at such large tourist and entertainment spot. Highly recommend bringing your kids, having a family or friend trip, or (in our case) having a girl's day here at Disneyland. Now for my standard comments. The location is clean and well kept, especially for somewhere so consistently crowded.”

β€œBeen here in the fall as well summer! Beautiful park and lots of attractions! I would definitely come again to see the winter set up! The layout is pretty nice! The rides are nice as well! I enjoyed the popcorn and the pretzel! Good variety of both attractions and food. The best part was the live show we saw of the lion King, it was breathtaking πŸ˜β€
