1 / 2Downtown Playground
📍 Auraria, CO
Downtown Playground is the sole play option in central Denver. Located next to an 8-lane highway — reviewers report road noise and exhaust fumes. Water features are seasonal. Occasional presence of homeless individuals noted.
Nice playground but can have unwanted company at times
🏆 Family Action Verdict
works well for families in the immediate downtown area with no transport to larger parks. Best for a brief outing rather than a long stay given the highway proximity and noise. Water features add value in summer months only. Parents with sensory-sensitive children should factor in the traffic noise.

“Place is a little worse for where or beat up granted I’m visiting in September on Friday. Definitely nobody here. Couple of homeless people mailing about water features are turned off, but the kids had fun digging in the dirt playing on the playground.”

“The playground itself is nice enough but it's directly on the side of and downwind of an 8-lane highway. It's really loud and reaks of exhaust fumes all day. I'm pretty sure this is the only playground in the downtown area though. Very disappointing that this is our only option. We would bike downtown a lot more if there was a better playground somewhere.”
