Dreyfuss Planetarium
📍 Newark, NY
The Alice and Leonard Dreyfuss Planetarium runs alternating astronomy shows on weekends, including Origins of Life — a 25-minute journey from the Big Bang to Mars. First-come, first-served seating for up to 50 people. Part of Newark Museum of Art.
It was fun. Now a lover of planetariums🫶🏾There's also 2 shows that play alternately on the weekends between 12pm -3pm. I visited on a Sunday💜Host was polite. Definitely going back to catch the other show. Doors close (shows begin) at the set time, no later than, so get there early or you'll miss the show. It's about 35 minutes or so.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age children and adults with a genuine interest in astronomy or space science. The small capacity creates an intimate experience. Families with young children who can't sit through a 30-minute show in a dark room should wait until kids are at least 5 or 6. Arrive early — this one sells out fast on community event days.
