Escape Rooms of Austin
đ Southpark Meadows, TX
Zero Latency free-roam VR plus multiple escape room themes including Dragons (easier difficulty). Kids ages 10+ enjoyed it; birthday party bookings available. Located in South Austin off I-35.
My kids (ages 14, 11, and 10) and I were there a little less than a week ago (April 2025) and we really enjoyed our time! My son picked it for his birthday outing since he really loves escape rooms and he was not disappointed! The game we did was one of the easier ones (Dragons) and it was perfect--we escaped with nine minutes to spare, but the game was complicated enough that we got stumped a few times and were never bored. The whole thing was like doing an escape room while being in a video game. It was really easy to get used to the VR headset and controls. My older kids who don't really like escape rooms even loved this! It felt like we all contributed equally to our success and everyone left in high spirits. I'd love to come back and try a harder one! I don't even think I will mind if I lose! In addition to the escape room game being awesome, the staff who set everything up for us was really patient and kind too. I could tell he enjoys his job and loves seeing people succeed! Update: We returned a year later for my son's birthday again, and had just as much fun as we did last year. We beat it again with five minutes to spare. We found it was fun being inside the rooms, even if we weren't trying to escape. If this place was closer to our home, we would definitely more than once a year!
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 10 and up who want a mix of immersive VR and puzzle-based escape rooms. The easier Dragons room works well for first-timers and younger players. Birthday groups are well catered for with dedicated party packages.
