This was a good tourist railroad and I enjoyed my time there. The riverboat was cool too. The riverboat is not at the end of the line. You pass it and then they drop you off on the wayback. I was in first class and the seating was comfortable. Would do again.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

School-age children and older get the most from this experience — the combination of working steam power, river scenery, and knowledgeable guides holds genuine attention. The Christmas excursion is an especially strong draw for families looking to anchor a seasonal tradition.

Perfect for seeing the fall colors - online said it was a bit early to see the fall foliage but it was spot on & much better than around Lee, MA. We debated between this one and a different train ride closer to Lee - we’re very glad we chose this one! It was worth the 2 hour drive! The guide on the train & riverboat were both very informative - it was neat to hear some of the history and highlights along the way. Grabbed dinner at Rift after (just 5 mins away) it was delicious! Would return & would recommended!

We took our family for Christmas and this was an awesome experience. Colleen who works here introduced us, I had never been. It was great. We will try to do this yearly going forward. Thanks again Colleen! Inside has food and drinks while you wait. It is all nicely decorated for photos, etc, then the trains the best part. Our son loved it.

Had a fabulous 5 ⭐ brunch on the mid-day train. Very attentive staff narrating & serving our meal. Prime Rib melts in your mouth. Excellent chef & wait staff. Autumn foliage was on full display and scenery was spectacular. Very posh houses to be seen up & down the tracks.
