I haven't been ice skating since I was a teen. It was fun and there were so many other adults there, enjoying themselves. I had a great time meeting others who are more skilled than I, who were so kind to give me basic instructions on how to skate (I could barely stand up at the beginning). I felt like it was great physical exercise, while enjoying myself as well. Even the kids were pretty considerate as they "whooshed" by me, and smiled at me. I am looking forward to going back some more, especially in our hot summertime! Maybe I'll get better... maybe I'll get to learn how to skate backwards! Edit: went on a Thursday afternoon, during open skating. I imagine it would be a little more crowded on weekends. The Man at the check-in counter was super attendant and our rental skates fit us perfectly, according to his assessment. Make sure to bring thick socks (I had two pairs) as the skates will tend to chaif. Again I had a blast and cannot wait to go back.
π Family Action Verdict
Strong fit for first-timers and developing skaters of all ages. Children as young as 3 can enter the Snowplow SAM program. Weekend public skate sessions can get crowded with hockey-age kids on the ice β families with young beginners may find weekday public sessions more manageable.

βTessa at the front desk was fantastic my daughter broke her nail while skating and she took care of her and made sure she had all she needed. Thank you Tessaβ

βThe facility is awesome and the ice is well maintained, however if you go on weekends the rink guards do NOT do anything. I expect weekend public skates to be crowded, but there are hockey kids cutting in front of people and roughhousing on the ice and the rink guards look the other way. For $20 I want to be able to practice and enjoy myself safely. Watched two little kids plow directly into an adult man at full speed and they all fell down hard and rink guards never intervenedβ
