1 / 2Florida Children's Museum
π Lakeland, FL
Florida Children's Museum in Bonnet Springs Park spans two floors of interactive galleries including Watermelon Seeds, Design Park, and City Play.
It was fun, spent a few hours there. Need to look into what else is there. Theres more outside, I dont think its part of the museum, but its a public park
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children ages 2β10. City Play engages the full family with adult costumes available. The sensory-inclusive design makes this one of the more accessible children's museums in Florida for kids with sensory sensitivities. Children up to 12 are welcomed, and volunteers must be 14+.

βIt was ok. It's up to 12 but honestly I didn't see anyone above 9 or 10 so there is plenty of young children. Only thing I don't get is the fact that the volunteers have to 14 but a 12 yr old would enjoy being a volunteer more than being treated like a toddler with the goodbye parade. Very smart tho with the parade. If your 12 I suggest waiting until your 14 because alot of the stuff in city play was too short for a 12yr old and more fitting for a 6 yr old. Sorry tall kids!β

βWent with my kids we have an EBT card so weβre supposed to get a discount but the card is in my Son name and heβs 3, he does not have an ID so they denied us the EBT discount. They did not even try to work with us on it.β

Overview
Florida Children's Museum at Bonnet Springs Park houses multiple themed galleries across two floors. Watermelon Seeds immerses young children in colorful produce-themed play; Design Park challenges kids to engineer floating vehicles tested in a construction alley; City Play gives children and adults costumes and a full city-scale role-play environment. The museum is sensory-inclusive with sound dampening, predictive floor patterns, shade controls, and wheelchair access.
