G. Thomas DiDomenico Bayonne Municipal Pool
π Bayonne, NY
Clean municipal pool facility with outdoor swimming and helpful staff. Limited to Bayonne residents only, with strict residency card requirements that exclude visitors and guests.
What a great place. The staff there are tremendous! We misplaced our car key and the staff went above and beyond to help us. Especially, Vanessa she was all over the pool helping and generally checking on everyone to make sure the day was running flawlessly. The pool was clean, calm and we couldnβt ask for a better day. Thank you!
π Family Action Verdict
This municipal pool works well for Bayonne residents seeking a clean, well-staffed facility, but the strict residency policy excludes visitors and guests. Best visited on weekdays to avoid overwhelming crowds, and families should plan to bring their own food and arrive early for parking.

βIβve lived in Bayonne since 2001. I remember my summerβs here with my brothers and sisters so easy and funβ¦ now itβs just too busyβ¦ back in the dayβ¦Bayonne used to be a small, small town, a secretive place now itβs packed in Booming. I actually prefer it the other way, but thatβs just my opinion.β

βStrict resident policy - With ID itβs more $ With resident card we pay $3 adult $1 under 13. Weekdays are always the best obviously less crowds. Weekends are pretty crowded but still enjoyable. Food - meh. Salty and overpriced although we do not eat meat so canβt speak on the meat. Snacks are ok but we like to bring our own. Management of pool is ok, they have young lifeguards but despite their age they are mature and pay attention IMO. If you need anything and go to the office they are on it! Recently there have been problematic crowds, rowdy teenagers with no manners- ex: smoking, drinking, bullying, rough playing. They try to manage it but people need to report it for the proper steps to be taken. I always say if we can enjoy our time there is no issue but once there is an interruption we need to speak up. Such as cursing at little children (yes that happened). Overall, this is a great pass time and location for our community, bring a blanket and chairs, your own food and drinks and youβll have a great time! Parking can be difficult so get there early, if you have a small car it is easier.β

βA pretty nice pool, but always way too crowded. They have strict limits on IDs which do cut a little bit of the crowd out, but even then there's always way too many people, even in the 18+ lap pool. It gets to the point where sometimes it's impossible to do laps in there because so many people who use it as a place to just sit and block off everything for people who are actually there to exercise and not just sit and talk. Food's incredibly expensive, and you never get enough for the amount you're paying, which was originally excused because it at least tasted incredible, but the quality has gone downhill. The lifeguards that are on duty are pretty good, but the ones who are waiting for their shifts to start are insufferable. They splash, dive and jump around, being general nuisances in the adult pool, but do they ever get in trouble for it? Nope! Any other person would most likely get kicked out of the pool for doing the same, but just because they're in cahoots with the other guards, they'll never get in trouble.β
