The ice skating center at Galleria Dallas is honestly one of the coolest features you’ll find in any mall. It sits right in the middle under a huge glass ceiling, and you can see it from all four levels, which makes the whole place feel alive. What makes it stand out is that it’s not just decorative. People are actually skating all day, from beginners to more experienced skaters, and sometimes you’ll catch lessons or events going on. There’s something really unique about shopping and then looking over the railing to watch people skating below. The atmosphere is great too. During the holidays they put up a massive Christmas tree over the rink, and it turns into a really nice spot just to hang out and take it all in. Even outside of the holidays, it still has that lively energy that most malls don’t have. The rink itself is well maintained, and the whole area stays clean and organized. Whether you’re skating or just watching, it adds a completely different experience you don’t usually get in Dallas. Definitely worth checking out even if you’re not planning to skate.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with kids ages 4 and up, including first-timers. The central mall location means parents can take non-skating breaks at nearby shops and restaurants without leaving the building. Skate school enrollment suits kids who want to progress beyond casual public sessions.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Arrive at the start of a session to maximize ice time—sessions have set end times.
Book group rates at least 48 hours in advance; group pricing is not available during major holidays.
🎟️Dress in layers—the rink is noticeably cold even on warm Dallas days.
