1 / 2Gardena Bowl
📍 Gardena, CA
Family-run bowling center open since 1948 with lanes, billiards, arcade games, cosmic bowling, and a cafe serving Hawaiian-Japanese dishes — fresh sashimi, generous portions — consistently praised above the bowling itself.
This place is the pinnacle of solutions to not knowing what to do with the next 30 minutes to 4 hours of your time. The pizza was killer, the billiards room was affordable, the arcade cabinets were also pretty enjoyable, and I found myself easily able to kill time I would have otherwise spent looking for the next place to drive to. Me and 3 friends played billiards for an hour for only 20 dollars and it was the highlight of the weekend
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a classic multi-activity venue with genuinely excellent food. The cafe routinely outshines the bowling as the main talking point — plan to eat, then bowl. The billiards room is affordable for a full group. Youth leagues make it a strong option for kids aged 8–16 who want structured bowling progression.

“Great food good people good times this is one of those few places that are still around from back in the day Victor a great person he took care of us and we enjoyed the Hawaiian food at the café. Definitely that nostalgic classical bowling experience. This place has been around since 1948 and there is a must see bowling alley.”

“The coffee shop here is the best. Great food, great service and great prices. Always busy because they are so good. Check it out. Then when you've eaten, go on out and bowl a few games.”

“Such a clean, wonderful bowling alley. The owners are the most wonderful people. The coffee shop is like the ones on the island for sure. Good old-school Hawaiian Japanese food.”

Overview
Gardena Bowl has operated since 1948 under family ownership, combining traditional bowling lanes, a billiards room, arcade cabinets, and cosmic bowling nights. The standout draw is the on-site cafe serving Hawaiian-Japanese staples — sashimi, island plates, American diner items — with large portions and fresh preparation. Youth bowling leagues run for ages 8–16. A pro shop and full bar round out the facility.
