1 / 2Hangar 18 Indoor Climbing Gym - Arcadia
π Arcadia, CA
Large indoor bouldering gym with 7,000+ square feet of climbing terrain, three bouldering areas, and auto belay climbs. Best for families with some climbing experience seeking challenging routes.
A fun gym with lots of challenging climbs. If youβre looking for a more competitive environment with lots of bouldering problems this is the spot!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with some climbing experience who want a challenging bouldering workout. The gym offers good variety for different skill levels and welcomes kids, but first-timers should expect minimal guidance from staff. Consider taking the intro class and be cautious with dynamic routes due to reported safety concerns.

βGreat new addition to the Hangar 18 gyms. Was another rock climbing gym in the past that they converted to their own. The padding is now much better and safer, the routes are pretty good and there are a lot of varieties for different levels. The overhang is also pretty fun! Great place to bring kids and family for fun times, or for more serious climbers who want a really good workout. Smaller than some of the other gyms, it still gives you a lot of work out options. They have a smaller top roping area with some simple routes. This is mostly a bouldering gym.β

βGreat for second visit and so on but the first visit was very confusing. The front desk just sat there chatting to one another and did the bare minimum for first timers to sign the waiver and thatβs it. Nothing was explained about logistics of membership and stuff. The intro class was great though and it has everything you need about climbing. After the first time at Hangar, you basically know what to do. This gym is relatively new and clean. Canβt deny itβs a great environment for climbing. Just that the customer service is not beginner friendly at all, otherwise if you just go there and climb, itβs a good gym.β
