1 / 2Hangar 18 Indoor Climbing Gym - Orange
π Orange, CA
A 9,000 sq ft bouldering-only facility in Orange with 150+ color-graded problems, overhangs, slabs, a cave section, training area, table tennis, and board games. No rope climbing or belaying.
Bouldering gym only β They used a color tag system for grading, which kept me curious and trying a lot of different problems coming from a different gym. Lots of overhang walls, one slab section next to the training/weights area. The open space is cool and I definitely appreciated all the seating to rest in between attempts. To what other people have said about parking, there isnβt a lot. I was there late afternoon on a Monday before the post-work/evening rush and the lot was already full.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older kids and teens already comfortable with bouldering who can visit before peak hours. The route diversity and wall variety reward experienced climbers. Arrive well before the evening rush to avoid capacity waits and parking difficulty. This is a bouldering-only facility β no top rope or lead climbing available.

βThis is my favorite Hangar 18 location so far but the parking is rough. The gym itself has so many diverse climbs and they utilize their wall space really well unlike other locations. It is strictly bouldering with a workout space. There was a line out of the door because they were at max capacity at 6:30PM but we got in pretty quickly. Iβll definitely be back.β

βLarge gym but also many people despite the non-peak time. They only have bouldering in the location. No belay. A few other things to do other than climbing (table tennis, board game, etc). Desk staffs are more attentive than most Hangar locations Iβve been to. Most parking spaces are next door or a few blocks away. They building didnβt have a lot of spaces.β

βHard to get parking, routesetting has been very stale the past couple of months, climb difficulty in tags vary wildly tbh, most holds are super chalked up and greasy, +1 for the community.β
