Nice and secure playground

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families wanting a full-day outdoor destination rather than a quick playground stop. The splash pad suits toddlers through age 10, the skate park engages tweens, and the train sightings delight younger children spontaneously. The concert stage hosts seasonal events that add programming value.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Position near the train tracks during your visit — conductors frequently wave at children watching from the park.
The splash pad is the main draw for toddlers in summer; arrive earlier in the day before peak heat.
🎟️Public restrooms are on-site, making longer visits manageable for families with young children.

We live this place. They have a little splash pad and a bigger sized park to play in. There's also a train that passes by a lot and the kids get to see the train and the conductor waves at the kids sometimes! Super cute!

Overview

Hart Park is one of Wauwatosa's most complete recreational spaces, covering 52 acres with facilities for nearly every age and interest. Families with young children gravitate to the playgrounds and splash pad, and the freight train that passes nearby — with conductors known to wave at kids — has become an unofficial attraction. Older kids can use the skate park, as teens and adults have access to tennis, pickleball, a public track, and a turf football/soccer field.
