1 / 2Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary
π Prescott, AZ
Small Prescott zoo spanning 10 acres with large mammals, birds, reptiles, tarantulas, and a children's zoo section, plus playground, splash pad, and private behind-the-scenes animal encounter tours.
Great little zoo for all ages. You can see them all up close. Nice walk and view. GREAT PRICES you can really tell the animals are well taking care of and very loved. The employees are amazing here it's such a great sanctuary.
π Family Action Verdict
Families with children of any age who want guaranteed close-up animal encounters without navigating a sprawling zoo will find this the right fit. The compact layout with gentle hills is manageable for strollers and young children. The playground and splash pad extend the visit beyond the animal circuit.

βThis zoo was great itβs small but I saw more animals than the big ones in Phoenix or bearizona since the animals were always hiding in those. My kids loved it and the park playground was a plus. We will back soonβ

βWhat a fantastic experience! We opted for the private behind the scenes tour (1.5 hours, just under $300 for two people), and it was so worth it. You get up & close to several animals to give them snacks, and the host gives you a plethora of information about the sanctuary and each animal. Dyann was so knowledgeable and a great guide for our experience. The sanctuary is a wonderful cause and well worth every minute. It's not a massive complex either, so it's very easy to take a stroll around with just a few little hills and awesome scenery. Highly recommend!β

βI went to the Heritage Park zoology sanctuary a couple weeks ago, and it was absolutely splendid. My favorite part was the monkeys, I canβt believe that they have monkeys now. When I was a child, I remember there was a monkey so the monkeys must be somewhat recent, anyways I love monkeys.β

Overview
Heritage Park sits beside Willow Lake and keeps its animal population at a scale where sightings are virtually guaranteed β a contrast to larger zoos where animals frequently retreat out of view. The sanctuary holds mammals, birds, reptiles, and invertebrates including tarantulas. A children's zoo section, playground, and splash pad sit within the grounds. Private 90-minute behind-the-scenes tours let small groups hand-feed multiple animals with detailed keeper commentary.
