π Ventura, CA
Best for an easy afternoon with a picnic. A six-acre east Ventura park with two playgrounds, a small skate park, a big open lawn and plenty of tree shade over the picnic tables. Street parking only.
I've always loved this park! Very clean, pet friendly, great for the kids , has their little playgrounds and also a skate park for the older ones . . . Perfect little neighborhood park
π Family Action Verdict
A dependable neighborhood park for east Ventura families: enough shade for a proper picnic, two play areas so siblings of different ages are not on top of each other, and a small skate park for the bigger kids. Go on a weekday or weekend morning to get a curbside spot, spot toddlers at the bottom of the slides, and check the grass before you sit.

βOne of my favorite parks to hang out with family and friends. So much open space with grass, beautiful trees, and a fresh breeze! Bathrooms always seem to have toilet paper and clean.β

βLots of big trees so decent amount of shade. There are two playgrounds on opposite sides of the park β one larger than the other. The slides are not the best. The bottom of the slide sits two feet off the ground so children get launched off when they get to the bottom. They terrified my my kids. There is a skate park with ramps. Itβs not huge but itβs great! The center of the park is a large grassy field which I saw a group use for extreme frisbee-ing. There are picnic tables and benches scattered throughout but best spots are under the trees so perfect for bringing a picnic planner and a book. There is a restroom facility that I didnβt enter, but nice that itβs there. I didnβt see any homeless people around so that was pleasant for the children. Overall, lovely park!β

βPretty nice park, itβs large & flat. Has big open space in the middle. Can see the stars/sky there great when it gets darker. The park has really nice trees around the perimeter. Has a couple of nice playgrounds for kids. A few picnic tables. It also has a standard public park bathroom. This place gets pretty crowded on the weekends. Nowhere to park expect the neighborhood. Hobert park also has a small skatepark in it. Great spot for gatherings of all types or nice place to relax on an afternoon or take your dog or kids. Check out this park if youβre in the area as havenβt already. VENTURA STILL NEEDS A REAL SKATEPARK!β

Overview
Hobert Park is a six-acre neighborhood park on Telegraph Road in east Ventura that does the basics well: a wide flat lawn for ball games and frisbee, mature trees around the edge that shade the picnic tables, two playgrounds on opposite sides of the park (one larger than the other), and a small skate park with ramps for older kids. Restrooms are usually clean and stocked, reviewers say. It is a local park rather than a destination, and parking is on the surrounding streets.
