1 / 2Iceworks
π Syosset, NY
New York Islanders-affiliated skating facility with two rinks offering learn-to-skate programs, figure skating, and ice rentals. Features a pro shop and various skating programs for all ages.
Nice clean place, has 2 rinks as far as I can see, could be more hidden. They are very well taken care of with the zamboni. Very quite staff, likes to keep to themselves. Very small parking lot. Not the place for a bus, although if you're careful, you can squeeze one in there.
π Family Action Verdict
Best avoided for structured skating lessons or programs due to reportedly unqualified instructors and unprofessional management. May work for basic recreational skating if you can overlook facility maintenance issues. Suitable for older children who can handle poor bathroom conditions and potential temperature problems.

βI've been going to this rink many times over the past 6 yrs for my son plays travel hockey. The rinks themselves aren't bad. But the bathrooms have always been a disgrace. I mean totally disgusting. You better go to the bathroom before you go to this rink.β

βOther than convenience this arena is a waste of time. Mismanaged disgrace that is disgusting even for hockey rink standards. Kids skating classes are not productive with most instructors seemingly unqualified just standing around talk to each other not engaging the kids. Donβt sign up for any of these classes go elsewhere. During this recently cold spell, the facility is not properly climate controlled with dangerously subfreezing temperatures inside the building where young children wearing 3 layers leaving the rink crying because their feet are freezing. Islanders should be ashamed of themselves with this place, but it seems the organization is mismanaged across multiple hockey facilities.β

βPedestrian Walk Side is awful as well as people cannot transit comfortably through it. It's like nobody cares about the Ice Works Presentation and their looks. Yeah Go Islanders but clean your front yard!!!β
