Jenkinson's Aquarium
π Point Pleasant Beach, NY
Boardwalk aquarium featuring sharks, penguins, seals, stingrays, interactive touch tanks, and a renovated rainforest level with Wally the sloth. Valet parking adjacent; no reservations needed for general admission.
Went on a rainy Saturday. It was crowded but ok. Even though we were able to use elevator for wheelchair to second floor it was very slow and claustrophobic. It was interesting and we got to see the sharks eat. I wasn't sure what to expect but since I had only ever been to the Camden Aquarium I felt a little underwhelmed. There is not a lot of room on 1st floor for wheelchairs or strollers for that matter. It would be great if the 1st floor walkway was wider. I loved the Pygmy marmosets. It was a nice surprise to see the other animals they had.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 3β12 who want close marine encounters without the scale and cost of major city aquariums. The shark feeding schedule is the must-see anchor β call ahead to confirm timing. Rainy days draw larger crowds as it's one of the few indoor options on the boardwalk.

βI have always loved Jenks aquarium . When my son and his friends were younger Iβd take them often. They loved the touch tanks, the fish tanks and especially the penguins . They are so darn cute. I havenβt been there in a while since my son is grown now but you use to be able to book a childs birthday party in the room upstairs with the penguins. Oh donβt miss shark feeding times ! Call ahead for the schedule. Itβs a fun day for kids of all ages and even adults. I know I enjoy it whenever I go too.β

βGreat aquarium with very reasonable prices. We loved seeing the seals, penguins, and all the beautiful fish β such a fun experience for the whole family. The only downside is that it could really use an elevator, especially for visitors with strollers. Other than that, it was a wonderful visit and we would definitely recommend it. ππβ
