Guided horseback rides through Griffith Park's 52 miles of trails, perfect for beginners and families. Patient guides provide safety-focused instruction with horses suited for all experience levels.
There were three of us total that went on this excursion. We weren't placed in a group with three others. We did not know and had two guides with us. We did the hour and a half long skyline ride. The guides told us they had had no measurable rain since April and it was quite Dusty! I recommend if you don't have a bandana or other face covering you buy a bandana from them before you go so that you can cover your nose and mouth. If you are not the front of the line on your horse, you will be eating dust the whole way. Don't let that deter you! There's plenty of the trail that's out in the sun. If you don't wear sunglasses, consider using one of their helmets as it has a small brim for sun. If you don't like helmets, you may want to consider wearing a hat or buying one of the many colors of hats that they sell that are branded. They will make sure that everyone in the group feels comfortable and knows how to sit, hold the reins, hold their feet, etc. In our group there were one experienced Rider, two good riders, one that said she was at beginning level, and one who was a first-timer. I'm not sure about the other one. I think she had been on a few touristy rides as well. All of us made it safely up and down the tall hills of Hollywood and enjoyed our time. If I would do this again, I would probably try a different ride such as their sunset ride or the wildflower ride. There's definitely lots of History to be had. Don't be afraid to ask the guides questions!
π Family Action Verdict
This is an excellent choice for families with beginners or first-time riders of any age, thanks to patient guides who prioritize safety and comfort. The educational component adds value, but be prepared for very dusty conditions that require face coverings. Best suited for families who want a genuine learning experience rather than just a scenic ride.

βI had an amazing horseback riding experience and canβt recommend it enough. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable & made my friend and I feel comfortable right away, carefully matching us with the right horse and explaining everything clearly. Throughout the ride, they shared interesting insights about the area and the horses, making the experience both fun and educational. Their friendly, relaxed approach made the whole adventure feel welcoming and memorable. Iβd definitely go again!!!! SHOUTOUT TO HECTOR :)β

βFor two people at 40 each was a good price and worth the wait for anyone trying to learn to ride a horse or get familiar with a horse. Brought someone who had never touched a horse let alone ride one. They enjoyed their experience and they would come again. Iβll be coming back with two friends so they can also experience this!β
