An amazing little gem in north port! I am so happy the family decided to keep this place open for the public. The animals include chickens, lamas, sheep, goats and big cow named anabel a local vegan ice cream company named after. The celery is $2 or you can bring your own from home. The peacocks and turkeys are my favorite and you can buy the feathers in the store ensuring they were safely fallen off the bird and not stolen or caused the animal harm as most places do. I love this farm sanctuary and will be back again!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 1–8 who want an intimate, hands-on animal encounter without the scale or crowds of a zoo. The calm, well-handled animals make close interaction genuinely accessible for toddlers. Call ahead to confirm the sanctuary is staffed before making the trip β€” donation-dependent operations can have irregular openings.

β€œOver 23 years ago we bought our first house a short walk from the farm… then moved to another house on the same street! Raised our kids, helped save the farm, we walk by it daily… it’s one of the reasons we live in this area of the village to this day. Please visit, please donate… and say hello to best friends Mikey & Blaze ♑”

β€œWe had a great time at Lewis Oliver Farm Sanctuary. It is a very small sanctuary but you can see and hang out with lots of animals. I love it.”

Overview

Lewis Oliver Farm Sanctuary houses rescued farm animals across original historic barns and a botanical garden. Kids can hand-feed goats, sheep, and llamas with celery purchased on-site or brought from home. The beloved resident cow Annabelle inspired a local vegan ice cream brand.
