1 / 3Lions Park Playground
📍 New Brighton, MN
Lions Park Playground in New Brighton sits beside a splash pad, ball fields, and walking trails connecting to a regional park. Rubber ground surface throughout. Seating available nearby. Confirmed fun for ages 2–6 and older.
Quiet and clean playground next to a splash pad, ball fields, and across the street from residential homes with walking trails that will bring you through the regional park. Plenty of parking spaces. We like that it is rubber ground and not sand or wood chip. No benches on the playground but seating benches under shade structures at splash pad as well as at the big park pavilion with two large grills. Multi level playset, slides, swings, crawl tube, spinning rides, and even a zipline swing.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children ages 2–10 during summer when the splash pad is running. The rubber surface and multi-feature layout suit mixed-age groups well. Walking trails make it a good outing for parents wanting more than just playground time. Benches are nearby the playground rather than within the equipment area.

“Great park, our kids love going, ages 2-6. Lots of older kids there when we go too, and the added splash pad is awesome.”

“No goose poop and the water goes above my head just beyond the buoys a bit. Minimal seaweed and the water doesn't stink too much. Not crystal clear but better than a lot of the city beaches. It was busy but plenty of parking. There was a lifeguard and a cafe that looked to be open mon-fri noon-6:30pm. There was also an plug in area to plug in a hose to air up water tubes. Definitely will be going back. The road in was longer than I expected, parking is literally at the beach.”
