1 / 3Loewy Family Playground
π Northwest Hills, TX
Gated turf playground in Austin's Northwest Hills, built by community donors in 2020. Rubber and turf surfaces suit crawlers and toddlers. Climbing structures, slides, and open kicking space grow with kids into grade school.
Cute playground in a good location. It feels safe because the area is gated, which adds a nice level of security.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for toddlers through early grade school. The gated layout works well for parents managing young walkers and crawlers. Shade and seating make longer visits comfortable. Weekend afternoons can attract older kids; weekday mornings tend to be quieter for smaller ones.

βMy toddler loves it, and thereβs lots of room for growing into the activities. Kids well into grade school can climb and slide and kick a ball around. Itβs turf and well maintained. There are shady areas and a picnic table. A great place all around, and one of the only options in the neighborhood on school days. The lot is not open during school hours, so park on the street.β

Overview
The Loewy Family Playground opened in 2020 as a community-funded project backed by 150+ Austin families, the Northwest Austin Civic Association, and the Austin Parks Foundation. The fenced perimeter adds a layer of security reviewers appreciate. Turf and rubber ground cover make it accessible for babies and toddlers, and structures scale up to grade-school climbers. Picnic tables and shaded spots give parents a comfortable place to settle in.
