π Chatsworth, CA
Mason Recreation Center offers a children's play area, seasonal splash pad, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, and picnic areas. Programs include preschool, arts and crafts, and summer camps for school-age kids.
Mason Park is a clean, spacious, and family-friendly park thatβs perfect for a day outdoors. The playground is well-kept and safe, making it a great spot for kids to enjoy. There are picnic areas with plenty of shade, so itβs easy to set up for gatherings or just a relaxing afternoon. The restrooms are available and decently maintained, which is always a plus. The park is also dog-friendly, with lots of open space and walking paths that make it enjoyable for pets and their owners.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids across multiple age groups who want sports facilities, structured programs, and outdoor picnic space in one location. Confirm splash pad status before a hot-weather visit. Families who prioritise fully operational playground equipment may find the ongoing repair cycle frustrating.

βGreat park in a nice area. The public restrooms are always clean as well however they only have one female stall and one male stall. I am so happy the splash pad actually works now. Unfortunately though the few times we have gone it stops working or is not on. I am happy though that there is always a park employee there trying to fix the problem. Cute little splash pad for kids. Not the best but very enjoyable for the kids, plus itβs free. Water is also surprisingly warm.β

βThis park is fine I guess, but it's not as good as other parks. There have been multiple times that items on the playground are taped off because they're broken. I've seen one thing get fixed, but the bounce horses have have signs and chains covering them since I moved here. The swings are, for some strange reason, over sand and fully in the sun with no shade. I've also had my toddler fall fully out of the bucket swing, which only has a chain on the front instead of a fully closed seat. Upsides are that there's a splash pad which is usually open and running during summer months. The last equipment (that's not broken) includes separate areas for younger kids and older kids. There's huge wide open green spaces surrounding the playground.β
