1 / 2McDonald Park
π Bungalow Heaven, CA
A neighbourhood park in Pasadena's historic Bungalow Heaven district with a large playground, softball field, handball courts, grassy field, and paved walking paths. Free street parking along the perimeter.
Cute Park, super-cute neighborhood, pathway lit after dark, sometimes you see a neighbor's horses here getting exercised even the park is pretty empty... but have also seen coyotes cruising through the streets (though possibly related to recent fires nearby?)
π Family Action Verdict
Best for local families and those comfortable visiting an open, sun-exposed park. The playground is large and well-used, the multi-sport courts give older kids options, and the neighbourhood setting is charming. The lack of shade over the playground is significant on hot days β morning visits suit young children better in summer.

βMcDonald Park is the town square of the historic Bungalow Heaven neighborhood. If youβre coming from outside the neighborhood, there is plenty of free street parking along the perimeter. The park has a playground, softball field, handball courts, a big grassy field, and paved walking paths. If youβre bringing your dog, there are plenty of trash cans but no poop bag dispensers, unlike many Pasadena parks. The paved paths are short, but it is easy enough to extend your walk into the neighborhood, where youβll see a lot of charming Craftsman bungalows from the early 20th century.β

βThis park is great, but the only problem is that there is no shade and thatβs a big deal because the sun hits it pretty hard. However the actual playground facility is large and itβs a lot of fun for the kids so itβs definitely a valuable parking in Pasadena we really should update it with more shading. In addition to this a drawback is that the bathrooms are not in good repair and are often filled with homeless people so just beware when you have little ones with you you really need to check the bathroom out before you take your kids inside.β
