Had a great event this past Saturday morning - church men's event with 40 guys playing the course. Fun times had by all. Appreciated Brian and his team opening early and blowing the course. We will be back!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with school-age kids and older who can engage with the historical context. The aircraft walk-through is a standout for curious children and history-minded adults. Younger kids will enjoy the mini golf course regardless of the educational layer. Large group events and weekend outings are a strong fit.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Call ahead for groups of 6 or more to secure tee times, especially on weekends
⏰Check food truck schedules before visiting β€” on-site dining options vary by day
🎟️Allow extra time for the museum walk-through inside the aircraft, separate from the golf round

β€œThis is not β€œputt putt”. I remember playing putt putt growing up: narrow fairways bordered by 3” high metal rails, a windmill, a hole or two with detour pipes that spat out your ball close to or far away from the hole, and if you ultimately got near the hole, you were soon to sink it. Memorial Mini Golf is not that, but it is fun because it is not that. They use at least four different speeds of turf, AND even thicker turf as rough that borders much of each holeβ€”meaning if your ball ends up along a β€œwall”, you’re putting off one type of turf onto another. Not to mention that nearly every hole is on some sort of grade (I think hole 10–the Hole-in-One video challenge is relatively flat with a touch of downhill). There are some holes that offer some fun and challenging route optionsβ€”hole 11 being the piΓ©ce de resistanceβ€”but the consistent factor that Memorial Mini Golf offers is you have to read the grade and the turf, which makes every hole a unique challenge. We brought a giant group of 36 out on a Saturday morning, and they were kind enough to give us a group rate and blow off the course early so we could hit the practice holes beforehand and shotgun start on time at 10am. One thing I would do differently on my next visit when bringing the kids is planning to go slow to be able to read the different plaques that share tidbits about WWII, and then also browse the mini museum as well. There’s also a small β€œpitch & putt” disc golf course you can enjoy, and a small playground for the kids and some picnic tables near the food truck. Definitely worth a visit!”

β€œWhat a great cute place. The putt putt is super cool and fun for all ages. Curt little museum. A couple of food trucks. The Foxhole bar is really a cool place. A little off the beaten path but worth the trip for a weekend with the kids and friends.”

β€œI wish instead of only food trucks there was a veteran friendly cafe with consistent hours, realistic hours, fair prices and indoor seating for when Texas weather swings on short notice. Could do a 2 story 100 seat restaurant if the kitchen and vending was upstairs, dumb waiters delivering orders downstairs. Full sized elevator for vendor and catering activities. It actually wouldn't be that expensive if a basic I-Beam structure was set in concrete, rustproofed and build perimeter plaster / stucco walls. Building it out in stages, it could all be downstairs with a small trailer kitchen as the downstairs dining area developed, maybe investors and donors would have ideas for showing old WW2 classic movies or something while you're ordering eggs and grits or a juicy burger. Milkshakes etc. Maybe add healthier choices as the upstairs kitchen is online.”

Overview

Memorial Miniature Golf and Museum is a one-of-a-kind venue where every hole on the 18-hole course is dedicated to a real veteran. The attached Greatest Generation Museum lets visitors tour the inside of an aircraft filled with authentic donated memorabilia β€” a hands-on format that goes beyond traditional display cases. Reviewers describe the course as legitimately fun for all ages, not a basic putt-putt layout. Food trucks rotate on-site, and The Foxhole bar serves adults.
