1 / 2Mission Cliffs
π Mission District, CA
Mission Cliffs covers 23,000 sq ft of climbing terrain including a 50-foot lead wall, 2,000 sq ft bouldering area, and 160+ routes. Intro classes, yoga, fitness, and weight room on site.
Really, really nice climbing space. Lots of tall walls, a very wide variety of climbs for people of all levels. The bouldering area is small, but youβre set if you like to top rope or lead. Whoever sets their routes does a great job -- the climbs are always very interesting, and they update them regularly. Thereβs lot of overhang, straight-up-and-down and a small slabby section. Lots of fun corner climbs. Thereβs also a decent number of exercise machines and a weightlifting area. Bathroom and locker room areas are nice and clean. Nice general vibe Staff is always friendly and helpful. Basically, everything youβd want in a climbing gym, except itβs across town from me. π«
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 7 and up who are ready to try structured climbing. Intro clinics give first-timers a safe entry point. The variety of route difficulties means parents and kids can climb simultaneously on appropriate challenges. Bouldering is more casual and accessible for younger or less experienced visitors.
