1 / 3Monmouth Museum
π Middletown Township, NY
Interactive children's museum on the Brookdale Community College campus with ocean-themed play rooms, a hands-on dinosaur dig pit, space exploration area, and STEAM activities. Best for toddlers to age 8.
My toddler and I went there the other day. He loved the ocean themed play room. It was very clean and they did story time as well. Its alittle expensive, at $14 per person for anyone over the age of 1. Also be sure to check their website to make sure the play areas are open. Sometimes they close them for events or private tours. Overall, we definitely will be back.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers to children aged 8 who want hands-on learning with enough variety to hold attention for two or more hours. The dig pit and space area are the strongest hits for that age range. Check the museum's website before visiting β the Wonder Wing play areas occasionally close for private events or tours.

βHidden gem of Monmouth county. Had taken my son over 20 years ago and just took my grandson. Had the best day. The dinosaur exhibit was great with a hands-on dig pit. The whole museum has so much to offer. We were there over 2 hours and enjoyed a lunch we brought right outside. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend!β

βNice indoor space for younger children to play. It could use a little refresh, but overall its clean. Room through the play area has a few crafts available should they kids want to take a few minutes out from climbing. I've been there before when other rooms were open and different displays offered, so those changes keep it interesting. Restrooms are clean, staff could be a bit more friendly.β
