1 / 2Mount Airy Bowling Lanes
📍 Mount Airy, MD
Mount Airy Lanes specializes in duckpin bowling — a smaller-ball Maryland tradition — with an on-site restaurant, birthday party packages, Rock N' Bowl nights, and league play for all ages.
Mt. Airy Lanes is a fantastic environment for not only bowling but for fun, memories, and overall a good time. You can tell they care and put a ton of hard work into that place. Truly a great center. Definitely helps to have passionate people such as Nick Lloyd on their staff, boy does that kid know a thing or two about bowling… If only there were more people like him and the Rineer family around to help keep this game thriving. Kudos to everyone there who makes MAL a great venue. Cheers
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids of all ages — duckpin bowling's smaller balls make it particularly accessible for children who struggle with standard 10-pin. The food-and-bowling combo works well for birthday parties, and the welcoming community atmosphere makes it a reliable local repeat visit.

“Mt Airy Lanes is the best Duckpin Bowling alley I have ever been to in Maryland. I’m not from around here but I do my best to visit when I’m in town. From the classic duckpin bowling to the food, to the outside lounge area, to the bathrooms, this place is the best around and isn’t going away anytime soon. The staff are always friendly and ready to help. Their head mechaNICK Nick Lloyd is always a pleasure to see and has a huge passion for his work! The Rineer family has always done an amazing job with place throughout the years, if I could I would give Mt Airy Lanes a perfect 300 stars!”

Overview
Mount Airy Lanes has been family-owned since 1976, surviving a lightning fire in 1978 and reopening within six months with community support. The alley focuses on duckpin bowling, a regional style using smaller balls that makes it more accessible for younger kids. Aly's Way kitchen serves burgers, pizza, chicken tenders, and fries. The venue offers lane reservations, birthday party packages, bowling leagues, and a Rock N' Bowl event series. An outdoor lounge area rounds out the experience.
