๐ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 7 and up who want an active, skill-building experience. Younger children can engage with beginner bouldering under supervision. Parents who climb get full access to all walls and classes. First-timers should book a beginner clinic โ the gym's coaching staff build confidence quickly.

โThey like to celebrate every alphabet occasion there is. But if you want ropes in Portland, it's the way to go. Expensive but what isn't I guess. Stingy on guest passes. But anyway the climbing part is great.โ

โCasual climber here - and this review is for the casual climber. If I had to sum my review into a single word, it would be pretentious. I go climbing on occasion every other year. Everywhere Iโve gone, itโs been a smooth and easy experience with staff who are great on giving quick refreshers. Decided to try this place out today with a friend, got the guest pass, and was disappointed. First off - you have to enter phone number, address, and a bunch of personal information, just to do the guest pass. Iโm sure this is to spam me with offers in the future ๐คฎ Staff said that weโd need to pass the belay check to climb, which is fine. ๐ I guess I just didnโt realize that they expected people who are saying they are casual climbers to know everything without any kind of help? (Like I said, this review is for the casual climber). We obviously failed our first check, went and YouTubed a quick 5 mins and felt comfortable with it all again! Then went back and was asked a bunch of different questions than beforeโฆ and then were offered classes and told we could only boulder. I support safety, I guess the experience was just different than any other gym. Where I could say โyeah itโs been a minute, remind me of some key points after not climbing for 2 yearsโ - instead of - you must know everything, we will give you no help, and if you donโt know everything you must take our class, which you must sign up to be a member forโฆ blah blah blahโฆ Like I said, just felt pretentious compared to any other gym Iโve been to.โ
