1 / 3Museum of Science
π Boston, NY
Boston's Museum of Science features the Theater of Electricity with live lightning demonstrations, multi-floor hands-on exhibits, puzzle stations, and IMAX shows. Suited to all ages from toddlers through adults.
We love going here! We bought Imax tickets in advance and it was sold out so definitely recommend doing that. It was also the busiest we have ever seen but we never had any issues waiting for anything. The staff are all extremely nice and helpful. I had to pump and I saw online they have a first aid room to do this. The staff were very accommodating and it was very easy for me to do this. We visited the engineering room and the kids love that it is hands on. We also went to the AI room and the water section. We ate lunch and the prices are affordable and there is plenty of seating. The Starbucks line was very long consistently so we didn't get a coffee. And we watched the balls go around the big machine and the kids always love that. I skipped the imax and didn't realize the entrance for the Imax is not the same as the exit when I went to meet my family. Something to keep in mind if you're meeting people after a show. I hope they get a new exhibit soon, right now they have the trains but we have seen those before. Also, the lower level bathrooms are all under renovations at this time as well as one of the elevators.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with curious kids of any age β toddlers explore tactile stations on lower floors, older children and adults engage with the engineering and space exhibits for hours. Plan for a full day; most families intend one hour and stay four or more. Book IMAX tickets before arrival as they sell out regularly.

βI photographed a wedding at the Museum of Science, and it was one of the most unique and memorable venues Iβve ever worked at. The ceremony took place in the Theater of Electricity β an incredible, immersive space that created such a dramatic and unforgettable atmosphere for the coupleβs vows. Afterward, the reception was held under a tent along the Charles River, offering beautiful views and a perfect blend of city skyline and waterfront charm. The flow between locations was seamless, and the museumβs staff was organized, welcoming, and great to work with throughout the entire day. From a photography standpoint, the Museum of Science offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience. If youβre looking for a wedding venue that feels distinctive, fun, and full of character, this is an amazing choice. I loved photographing here. β Brett Crawford Photographyβ

βWent to the Museum of Science in Boston with my two kids and it was amazing. We started thinking we would just spend an hour but ended up staying the whole day. The handsβon exhibits, space and tech displays, and especially the lightning show had all of us completely hooked. The kids were wideβeyed the whole time and honestly, I was too. It is one of those rare places that makes learning genuinely exciting for everyone.β

βOne of the best science museums we have visited. Spent around 4 hrs but could have spent the whole day. (Kids aged 9 and 5 yrs) Wide variety of exhibits of different sceince branches along with shows. The heating and cooling show (unable to recall the exact name) and electromagnetic show (which demonstrated the Tesla coils) were captivating and informative.β
