1 / 2Nassau County Aquatic Center
π East Meadow, NY
Professional aquatic facility with a large, clean pool, popular for swim meets and serious swimming. Best suited for families with school-age children who are focused on competitive swimming.
I swim there all the time. Also on the upper level there is food and a fitness center. Seating isnβt bad but could be a little better. Iβd recommend going there
π Family Action Verdict
Best suited for families with school-age children who are serious about swimming or attending swim meets. The facility itself is excellent with a large, clean pool and professional staff. However, parents should be aware of potential locker room appropriateness issues and consider supervising younger children more closely in changing areas.

βCompact parking lot and building, staple of Eisenhower Park for decades. Pricey. Construction going on right next to the building. Doesn't ruin walking through the park unlike the ice rink's huge area.β

βThe Nassau County Aquatic Center is a beautiful facility, very well equipped, and maintained to a high standard. The staff is consistently polite, professional, and helpful, which makes visiting a pleasant experience. However, I would like to raise a serious concern regarding the male locker room. On several occasions, I have observed older men walking from the showers to the lockers and restroom completely unclothed, even when there are many children present who also use this locker room. This behavior is inappropriate and, in certain contexts, may be unlawful. I believe it would be in the best interest of all visitorsβespecially families with childrenβfor management to address this matter promptly. A simple but effective measure would be to post clear signage in the locker room stating that towels must be used when moving through shared areas and reminding patrons that adults should not be fully undressed in front of minors. It might also be worth considering a visit from relevant oversight bodiesβsuch as consumer protection or child safety organizationsβto ensure best practices are in place. I hope this issue can be resolved as soon as possible, as it will make the center even more welcoming for everyone.β
