National Amphibian Conservation Center
đ Royal Oak, MI
The National Amphibian Conservation Center at Detroit Zoo is one of the few facilities in the US dedicated entirely to amphibian conservation and display.
Wonderful place!
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for curious children ages 5 and up with an interest in unusual animals. The vivid colors of poison dart frogs and the alien appearance of axolotls tend to fascinate school-age kids. Works well as part of a full zoo day rather than a standalone visit. The indoor format makes it a reliable wet-weather destination within the broader zoo.
