1 / 2National Children's Museum
π Northwest Washington, DC
Exhibits include a 3-story cloud climber with slide, protected toddler areas (Little Dreamers, Little Movers), Data Science Alley, green screen Weather Worlds, and a traveling Mo Willems exhibit through May 2026. Children under 1 are free.
Fun, safe, clean interactive environment to keep the whole family entertained from very young through adults.
π Family Action Verdict
Well-matched for families with children from infancy through about age 10. Dedicated protected zones make it genuinely usable with babies and toddlers alongside older siblings. STEM-themed exhibits give school-age kids substantive engagement beyond climbing.

Overview
The National Children's Museum at Woodrow Wilson Plaza puts hands-on learning at the center of every exhibit. Dream Machine's three-story climber and slide anchors the space, flanked by dedicated infant and toddler zones β Little Dreamers (cloud-themed) and Little Movers (gross and fine motor skills). Older kids engage with Data Science Alley, Engineering Games + Play, and a Nickelodeon Art + Tech exhibit. The traveling exhibit hall currently features Mo Willems characters through May 10, 2026.
