1 / 3Nickel Mania
📍 Southwest Carrollton, TX
Carrollton arcade running a nickel-based token model with ticket redemption prizes. Reviewers confirm kids can play for extended sessions on modest budgets. Birthday party hosting available. Around 30–40 games on the floor.
Nickelmania is the best. Been coming here for years! Where else can you give your kid $20 worth of tokens and they can play games for more than an hour AND have enough tickets to redeem for something?! Everyone wins. Great place
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 5–12 who enjoy classic arcade gaming and ticket redemption. The budget-friendly token model makes it accessible for longer visits without significant spending.

“Took my 10 year old this afternoon. Aside from having to pay to get in even if you're not playing games, there were maybe 30 to 40 games total, virtually all of which were "well-loved" (aka in very poor condition). Several were simply out of order. Given the variety of other, more modern, arcade options around, I'd save your money and go elsewhere.”

“We visited Nickel Mania on January 12 for my son’s birthday and spent approximately $80 during our visit. What should have been a fun celebration turned into a frustrating experience at the prize counter. After my son had already redeemed his tickets and received his prizes, an employee attempted to take items back, claiming the balance was slightly off. This situation was handled poorly and was especially upsetting given that it was his birthday. The tone from the employee at the counter was unwelcoming from the start, which only added to the negative experience. I contacted management the following day and fully cooperated with their “investigation,” providing all requested information, including payment details and card numbers. After weeks of back-and-forth communication, I was told they could not determine what happened and was offered a $15 game card credit. For an $80 visit and a birthday celebration that was mishandled, this does not feel like a fair or appropriate resolution. I have visited this business in past years with my older children and never had issues, which makes this experience even more disappointing. The lack of meaningful follow-up and accountability has been the most frustrating part. I do not recommend this arcade or location based on how this situation was handled. Never again. UPDATE: 2/26/26 After posting my review, management responded stating that all games recorded correctly and that no employees recall the interaction. To clarify, my concern was not about the total number of games played. The issue occurred at the prize counter, where my son was asked to return prizes after already redeeming his tickets because the balance was allegedly “slightly off.” We spent about $80 during what was meant to be a birthday visit. I provided card numbers and payment details during their review process and was offered a $15 credit after weeks of communication. I simply felt that this did not reflect the situation or the experience we had. I am sharing this so other families can be aware and make informed decisions.”

Overview
The arcade skews toward classic and redemption-style machines. The prize counter is a focal point for kids. Game count sits around 30–40 machines, which is smaller than modern competition and sufficient for a shorter family outing.
