Authentic steam-era excursions through southern Pennsylvania on routes Lincoln travelled, with costumed characters on themed rides, historical narration, vintage Pullman cars, and onboard food service on select trips.
We took our 5 yr old grandson to ride the "Wicked" themed train. Tickets were easy to purchase on line. There was ample parking a very short walk from the platform. They had bathrooms and a small gift shop that sold a few snacks and drinks. There was a cast of 3 well costumed characters that performed on the platform. The acoustics were good, they were all very talented and our little one was able to be very close to the action, which he loved! The train was warm and comfy and the actors came around multiple times, talked to the kids, gave out stamps and stickers and posed for many pictures. Everyone could not have been nicer! There was a snafu with 1 of our tickets: our seat was double booked, but fortunately another seat nearby was available. Overall, this was an excellent event. It took about 2 hrs total. Highly recommend!

“Super fun authentic old time train ride to the Howard Tunnel on the same route that carried Lincoln several times. The crew onboard were friendly, attentive and enthusiastic about their mission. They provided drinks and box lunch that was very tasty. The narration of the ride was great, provided historical context and some good humor. This is a great ride for a family trip, young or older especially if you have a fondness for trains. Can’t wait until the steam engine is back in service.”

“We went for a ride for my birthday. The staff sang happy birthday along with all the other passengers. The train was so much fun and everyone who worked there was awesome. The ride was very informative and the sandwiches they handed out were delicious. Highly recommend you check them out!! Great experience. Thanks for making my day extra special!!”

“What a wonderful experience! I loved it so much, I bought an annual membership and have used it a lot! From ticket sales (Vicky) to brakeman (John), to conductor (Bill), to everyone working at NCR, customer service and knowledge is exemplary. There are many options for train rides on these historic train cars and all are fun and even educational!”
