1 / 2Ossining Aquatic Center
đ Ossining, NY
Resident-only aquatic centre for Ossining and Briarcliff households, offering structured swim lessons with small class sizes, open aquatic programs for adults and children, and an active Spartan competitive swim team with dedicated coaching.
I didn't actually go to the center for any of their activities and didn't know they had a pool until leaving much later in the day. However, I do go there for a guided tour of the Weir, a part of the Croton Reservoir System. The operators of the tour have a small museum located inside the community center. What I did see of the community center aside from the museum was an active part of the community that provided space for a wide range of people to use of all ages. There was an adolescent class of self defense taking place not too far from where I was at the museum and on the lower level there was a private party about to start around 1pm or so.. this is a place I would love to go if I lived in the community.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for Ossining and Briarcliff families seeking quality swim instruction for children who are new to the water or building confidence. Small class sizes mean instructors can address individual fears directly â reviewers note visible progress in nervous children within weeks.

âWe love the recreation center! My boys are both taking swim lessons here and they love it. The staff is great with the kids, the classes are small and I am amazed at how quickly they are gaining confidence and skills in the water.â
