Out of Africa Wildlife Park
đ Camp Verde, AZ
Wildlife rescue park near Sedona offering covered safari tours, giraffe feeding from the tram, tiger splash shows, predator feeding demonstrations, and optional tiger feeding experiences. Rain closes most of the park except the safari route.
Went here this past Sunday for my sister's birthday. It was raining, so most of the park was closed off because of running water and mud. The only part that was open was the safari. We had bought tickets beforehand, so we didn't want them to go to waste. What could have turned into a rained out activity, it was actually a great experience! The safari was short, about 25 minutes, but it was awesome. Our guide/driver Armando was great. We got to feed one of the giraffes, Timba, who was really cute and friendly. Walked right up to us and got some great close up pictures and videos. Then we drove around and looked at the zebras, antelope and bulls. We all had a great time despite most of the zoo being closed off and not seeing the other animals. All the staff including the two women at the gift shop were extremely helpful, friendly and wonderful. Wish we could return for another visit!
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 5 and up who want wildlife encounters beyond a conventional zoo. The safari tour and giraffe feeding are the undisputed highlights â basic admission alone understates what the park offers. Budget for the Expedition Passport upgrade to access tiger feeding.

âWe had a great experience! The tiger splash show was awesome and fun to watch. You must do the upgrades - we got the Expedition Passport which includes general admission, feed a tiger, and a 1 hour tour on a covered truck thing. This is such a must! The animals know when the truck comes, treats come, so they all come to the truck!!! We wandered around prior and saw a few animals, nothing like the tour! Plus you get to feed the giraffes and see them very up close and personal! Recommend!! We went on a weekday in February, it was great, people around but not crowded and not too hot.â

âHad a very good time here. We love the safari and feeding time. It was basically not possible to find the wolves and some of the leopards in the thick bush, but the feeding time brought them all out. The shuttle system is helpful and the drivers are very nice, especially the elderly gentleman. However, if you want to sign up for the additional experiences, the total can add up quickly. The other downside is the "feed a tiger for 5 dollar" option. It is not a very exciting experience.â

âThis place is so cool! It has some unique experiences that you won't find at a traditional zoo. We really loved how the giraffe came inside the tram and we were able to feed it food that it eats and its regular environment rather than a pellet of some kind. We were also there on a day that they fed the predators, it was so interesting to watch them catch and devour their food. We could actually hear them crunching the bones! If you are in the area, you must stop and visit this place!â

Overview
Out of Africa Wildlife Park runs covered safari trucks through large naturalistic enclosures where giraffes lean into the tram for direct feeding, and feeding time draws wolves, leopards, and big cats out from dense bush. The Tiger Splash show and predator feeding demonstrations run on set schedules. Expedition Passport upgrades bundle the safari, general admission, and a tiger feeding session.
